A woman who admitting allowing her five-month-old daughter to be raped by a man she met online was handed down two consecutive life sentences without probation today.

Tessa L. Vanvlerah, 22, from St Louis, was charged with first-degree statutory rape and sodomy, as well as incest and child pornography.
Her attorneys failed to convince a judge that she should get probation because she suffers from a psychological disorder.

Dr Brooke Kraushaar said a dependent-personality disorder caused Vanvlerah to participate in the sexual fantasies of Kenneth M. Kyle, 49, a college professor from California, even though she knew sex acts involving her then-five-month-old daughter were wrong.
Kyle was sentenced to 37-and-a-half years in prison in March after pleading guilty of abusing the infant during several occasions in 2009, according to St Louis Today.
Along with hundreds of child porn images on Kyle's computers, investigators found information that led them to the St Louis area, where Kyle had visited Vanvlerah four times in five months since meeting online.

During those visits, prosecutors say the pair had sex with the girl and each other at various hotels.
Dr Kraushaar also told the court that the 22-year-old was so afraid of being rejected by others that she also allowed Kyle to choke, burn and urinate on her.

But prosecutors said Vanvlerah exercised free will when she started communicating online with Kyle and sharing child pornography. She also carved his name into her arm at his request but refused when he suggested bestiality.

They also said she spoke with another man who sent her child pornography and invited him to also come and have sex with her infant daughter.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kathi Alizadeh also pointed out that Vanvlerah willingly posed for pictures with Kyle and her daughter.
St Louis today also reported that a woman obtained an order of protection in 2008 against Vanvlerah, then 18, accusing her of seducing and having sex with the woman's 16-year-old autistic son.
The autistic boy is believed to be the father of the infant in the case.
The infant, who is now three years old, was placed with a foster mother who has since adopted her.
She read out a victim's impact statement saying the child would scream when anyone bathed her or changed her diaper.
Even now she has night terrors and asks every night to make sure no one comes into the home.

The woman, in tears, said the girl was getting better day by day now that she 'is no longer Tessa's plaything and she is no longer Tessa's child'.

Jennifer Mothershed is accused of putting bleach in her 14 month old daughter's eyes.

A Washington State mom blinded her young daughter by repeatedly dousing her eyes with bleach, prosecutors said.

Jennifer Mothershead, 29, pleaded not guilty to first-degree assault of a child in Pierce County court on Monday.

Prosecutors accused Mothershead of squirting bleach into her 14-month-old's eyes for weeks after the girl was diagnosed with an eye infection in March 2011, KOMO television reported.

Mothershead told doctors at the time that the toddler had scratched her eye while playing in a barn and was given antibiotics and eye drops to treat the injury.

The mother’s behavior was later revealed in May 2011 when the tot was brought to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center with a major head injury.

Hospital workers there called the cops because they suspected the girl was being abused, and detectives quizzed Mothershead about why the girl's eyes were swollen shut.

A suspicious staff member eventually took a whiff of the eyedrops and noticed a strong, chemical smell, the station said.

Pierce County Sheriff's Department spokesman Ed Troyer told Q13 Fox that one detective gave the drops the baby-bottle test on his wrist — and wound up burning himself.

"We found one of the eye drop bottles of chemicals, which basically burned our detectives," Ed Troyer told the station.

"It obviously wasn't something that should be going in someone's eyes."

An FDA chemists later determined the eyedropper was filled with bleach.

“The staff at Harborview determined that the damage to the child's eyes was consistent with repeated exposure to bleach, and ruled out any possibility that the eye dropper had been merely cleaned with bleach," Pierce County prosecutors said in a statement.

Mothershead was arrested on Friday after a nearly year-long investigation. Her bail was set at $150,000.

The little girl, now 2, lost vision in her right eye, but her condition was said to be improved.

She now lives with her father.

Mom charged after allegedly leaving child in car to drink margaritas

A Texas woman is in jail after allegedly leaving her 2-year-old in a hot car while she was inside a restaurant drinking margaritas.

Jessica Christian is charged with child abandonment after police say she left her young son in the car with the engine off and the car windows cracked for about forty minutes, MyFoxDFW.com reports.

A passerby identified as Celina Perez noticed the child in the car, and says when she realized how hot he was she knew she had to call police.

Authorities say the temperatures were 83 degrees at the time.

"It doesn't take a lot for temperatures to easily exceed 140 degrees inside of a car," Lt. Joel Lavender of Dallas-Fire Rescue told MyFoxDFW.com.

Christian was arrested when she came out of the restaurant to find authorities surrounding the car. According to the police report, when confronted by police Christian said she had run inside the Tejano restaurant to grab a takeout order, but a receipt produced by the bartender showed she had purchased four margaritas within forty minutes.

The boy was treated for dehydration and released to his grandmother, MyFoxDFW.com reports.

Police: Man straps 4 children to hood of car at liquor store, drives drunk

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -

Police in Fort Wayne arrested a man after they say he drove three blocks with four children strapped on the hood of his car.

Police spokesman John Chambers says officers were called about 5:30 p.m. Monday after a witness reported seeing a man and woman strap the children to the car in a liquor store parking lot and then drive away.

Chambers says a U.S. marshal stopped the car.

Police say the children were ages 4, 5, 6 and 7. The Journal Gazette reports the children weren't injured.

The man driving the car was arrested on a preliminary drunken driving. Police say he may face other charges.

The woman was questioned by police, who called the Department of Child Services.

Police didn't identify the man or woman.

A man is charged after police say he showed video and pictures of himself having sex with a horse to his young brother and then threatened to kill his father after he was told to leave the home.

Police say 20-year-old Mark Cohron had video and pictures of him and a horse having sex and showed them to his 8-year-old brother.

According to the arrest report, when Cohron’s father found out, he told him to leave the home. Cohron was arrested after he reportedly threatened to kill his father.
He is charged with terroristic threatening.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE ) - Louisville Metro Police have charged a woman with assault after she got into a fight with her sister and told her young son to stab his aunt.

According to an arrest report, 26-year-old Tamera Jenkins and her sister got into a fight Saturday afternoon at a home in the 1700 block of Mae Street Kidd Avenue.

"Two sisters got into a physical altercation over the use of the mother's car," said Dwight Mitchell, LMPD Spokesperson.

A police report says that things quickly spiraled out of control.
Jenkins would be arrested as a result of that fight - not just for the assault, but police say for getting her young child involved.

"The suspect in the case ordered her four year old son to retrieve a kitchen knife. The four year old did bring it back and she ordered the four year old to stab the aunt," Mitchell explained.

Police say Jenkins ordered her four year old to stab his aunt, Jenkins' sister, while the two were rolling around on the floor fighting.

"It's bizarre; the whole thing of ordering a four year old to kill his aunt and in this case your sister and allegedly over a vehicle," Mitchell said.

Police say that other kids got involved, all under the age of ten, and were able to get the knife out of the little boy's hands just as he was swinging the weapon.

All the chaos sent two kids to the hospital to have stitches.

"We're trying to move past it," said the aunt of the two sisters who were fighting.

She says the family is trying to heal.

"We wished it had never happened, but it did. What happened, happened. We can't go back and undo it. We have to go on from here and hopefully and prayerfully work everything out," the aunt said.

She's praying for peace for the family and that the two sisters can work things out.

"No matter what we're still going to love her, regardless of what the outcome is. She's our family and we love her and we will continue to love her. Families have issues. There's not a family out here on God's green Earth that doesn't have issues and we're no different than anybody else," the aunt said.

Police say that between the two women, there were eight children present at the time of the fight. All of the kids were under the age of 10.

Jenkins was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections on two counts of assault and nine counts of wanton endangerment.
