And it would seem the admin just about tripped over themselves in the rush to announce that this was not terrorism related. Don't have an opinion one way or the other on that myself, yet, but why the heck was the admin in such a rush? They didn't even wait for the guns to cool down before announcing it. Yes I have an idea why.

FORT MEADE, Md. - Authorities say one person is dead and two people have been hospitalized following a shooting near a gate to the National Security Agency in Fort Meade.

FOX 5 has learned that around 9 a.m. Monday, a vehicle tried to bypass a secured entrance to the NSA complex, which is located off of Route 32 in Anne Arundel County. Shots were fired and one person inside of the vehicle was killed at the scene. The other occupant was injured and taken to the hospital.

FOX News has reported that there were two occupants of the vehicle and that both were men dressed as women. Aerial video shows a woman's wig on the ground outside of a black SUV at the scene.

The NSA says one of its officers was also injured and taken to the hospital.
The NSA issued the following statement:

Shortly before 9:00 AM today, a vehicle containing two individuals attempted an unauthorized entry at a National Security Agency gate. The driver failed to obey an NSA Police officer's routine instructions for safely exiting the secure campus. The vehicle failed to stop and barriers were deployed.

The vehicle accelerated toward an NSA Police vehicle blocking the road. NSA Police fired at the vehicle when it refused to stop. The unauthorized vehicle crashed into the NSA Police vehicle.

One of the unauthorized vehicle's occupants died on the scene. The cause of death has not been determined. The other occupant was injured and taken to a local hospital.

One NSA Police officer was injured and taken to a local hospital.

The incident was contained to the vehicle control point area on the perimeter of the secure campus.

This information is preliminary and the FBI is leading the investigation.

The National Security Agency is grateful for the swift response of the NSA Police, as well as the support of the FBI, Maryland State Police, Fort Meade Fire Department, Fort Meade Emergency Medical Services, the Anne Arundel County Fire and Police departments, and other offices.

NSA takes seriously the security of its workforce and facilities.

The FBI issued the following statement:

"FBI Baltimore is investigating a shooting incident which occurred this morning at a gate at the National Security Agency at Fort Meade just off I-295 in Anne Arundel County, MD. The shooting scene is contained and we do not believe it is related to terrorism. We are investigating with NSA Police and other law enforcement agencies. Our Evidence Response Team is processing the crime scene, and FBI Agents are doing joint interviews with witnesses. We are working with the US Attorney's Office in Maryland to determine if federal charges are warranted. We have no further information at this time to release."

A building on the NSA campus was damaged by gunfire earlier this month. Authorities captured a man March 3 who they believe fired that night on the NSA site, as well as earlier at several nearby places and two moving vehicles. The suspect in that case, Hong Young, told police he heard voices directing him to fire on one of the occupied vehicles.

Well, it seems they were cross dressing prostitutes who got picked up by an older man who took them to a motel. When he passed out they took his money, his SUV and his cocaine, which explains why they freaked at the sight of the cops.
