Louisville announces postseason ban for men's basketball

Post by WLJ » Fri Feb 05, 2016 4:03 pm

Lets try to keep this civil
Louisville has announced a one-year postseason ban for its men's basketball team amid ongoing investigations into a sex scandal in which an escort alleged that a former staffer paid her and other dancers to strip and have sex with recruits and players.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Its sad that those who committed no wrong have to pay the price.

It's a mentality that pervades our society. Rather than punish the ones causing trouble everyone has to suffer.

All I know is I was never invited to any of these parties while on campus.

Kind of off the subject but

According to wiki

Academic staff 2,316
Administrative staff 4,585
Total enrollment is 22,293 as of Fall 2012
So that means theres 6,901 staff for 22,293 students
which is 1 for every 3.2 students.
Seems rather top heavy to me. Is it normal for a college to be that top heavy?

IMO this is Ramsey offering up the basketball team on the altar of public opinion to divert attention from the nefarious goings on in HIS administration of the University. Why this could not wait until the NCAA investigation was complete, or at least until the end of the season, I do not understand. So many schools have done so much worse (North Carolina) and nothing like this has happened.

I will wear my red and go to the game today, and for the rest of the season, and cheer my heart out at the injustice done to the fine kids on this team. I am so sad for Lee and Lewis, who came here so they could at least once in their collegiate careers, experience the NCAA tourney. Now, in the 11th hour, their dreams are crushed. But i will cheer for them and thank them for being Cardinals.

What about Powell? I mean she committed as much as an illegal act as anyone involved, but she's also the one who stands to profit (money wise) in all of this. If her motive was anything but money why didn't she come clean long time ago? Or was she maybe afraid it would all get hushed up without the publicity of a book. I'm sorry but after listening to her talk I leaning toward it was only the smell of money that brought her out.

It STARTED by the smell of money, IIRC she even "pimped out" her 3 daughters throughout that fiasco. Greed makes people do some messed up stuff.

That was my problem with it all. She had a lawyer begging the public to believe she was a prostitute and pimp committing plenty of crimes all combined and when the school was saying this can't be true, the whore and lawyer were screaming "nope she is a whore". All the meanwhile all the dumbass public could hear was Rick Pitino or those darn basketball playing teens! Can we also and not as a distraction I might add please prosecute the admitted criminal also? It's like what she did wasn't wrong since the school is involved and she somehow not only gets away with it but gets rewarded with a book of popularity and money from the sales WTMF?????

There must be some new, damning evidence that brought this on. I don't recall any school self imposing sanctions upon themselves and getting leniency from the NCAA. UNC has put hundreds of kids through bogus courses, handed out hundreds of bogus diplomas and the investigation is years old. All of which has brought on no penalties from the ncaa. Sooo WTF is uofl thinking???
Not everyone can be a winner or get a trophy, we are raising a society full of pu**ies

It's a media thing
Look an education scandal! = Yawn
Look a sex scandal! = Stampede!
Which keeps people's attention longer?
