Time in the shop
Finally had some time and will ( rare combo lately ) to get down to my shop. I've been toying with different methods to make a bowl/spoon/cup shapes by unconventional ways. Saw something like this online and thought I'd give it a whirl. It's a scoop made from an ash log for a coworker to feed her bunnies, It holds a half a cup.

Re: Time in the shop
I'd be just as interested in the process of making what you do as the finished product. It'd be awesome to see the skill you put into stuff like that.

Re: Time in the shop
Start with wood of choice. I believe this is hickory, a 6x6 log. Square the ends and draw a shape of a scoop.
Cut inside, then outside and flatten top.

Sand Inside U shape and outer D shape but not too much they will make a slide fit.
Once sanded slide D back in U for about a 3/4 overlap fit and glue and clamp the hell out of it. Let dry over night.
Will post more tomorrow.
