The vast majority of upper respiratory and sinus infections are viral, against which antibiotics are worse than useless.

Talk to snl, if I remember the story right it healed staff, herpes and his pecker grew 3 inches.

Tetracyclines and the macrolides (erythromycin and azithro) don't do well with sinusitis. Augmentin is the usual go to or a 3rd gen cephalosporin. But there's no evidence that antibiotics decrease the duration of sinusitis if it's been less than 1 weeks duration.

So. Go see a god damn doctor if it's been longer or you'll just suffer in misery. And don't use random antibiotics to treat. It'll just contribute to resistance and you'll end up needing really expensive ones in the future.

This advice is worth what you paid for it. And my legal official position is that you always need to go to your doctor if you have medical questions. :llama:
