Lost me at sub $40
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

cool- I found an NcStar armored 3-9x40 for $30 bucks on clearance. I know they're not sniper tactical gear quality, but should do 'minute of squirrel'.

I have a BSA "Sweet 22" on my 22.
Can't say it's great as I am still trying out ammo but it holds zero against the massive recoil. :)

I had one of these. paid $120. It was 4-16x40 or something like that and had the target turrets. The turrets kept slipping and the allen screws in them kept loosening so I got a $40 centerpoint from walmart.

Where did you find that?

here:

http://www.wayfair.com/NcSTAR-Rubber-Ta ... S1064.html

the place is like an online TJMaxx or Big Lots- they get discontinued/overrun models of stuff. I found the same scope at a couple other stores for ~ $50.

-let me know if you order anything from there, I'll give you my email address for a 'reference' and get another 10% off..

I'm gonna revive this thread instead of creating a new one. I am above the $40 range and looking at a scope for my soon to be aquired 22 rifle. Here is what I am thinking of so far....
Barska 3-9x32 plinker-22 30/30 reticle
Barska 2.5-10x42 varmint adjustable objective 1" Tube Mil Dot Reticle
Busnell 3-9x32 .22 multi-x reticle
Millett 3-9x40 buck silver medium duplex reticle

Use will be target practice and squirrels. Range will be anywhere from 25-100 yards. Honestly this will be my first scope that I buy and would like a decent one.
Opinions needed please.

I got a couple Barska's on my 22s and like them...

Both mine have the turrets and mil-dot, which was my reason for getting them....

Barska might not be first choice for centerfire, but nice option for rimfire.....well within your budget
