Have a BSA Sweet 22 on the Ruger American Rifle and like it a lot.

Owned 2 Barksa products (I did not buy them they were on stuff I traded for) that were not worth a damn. Maybe they make good stuff and I just got lemons...

Never owned a tasco.

At that price point you'll find that quality tends to vary a lot from one sample to another. I'll seen good ones of each brand mentioned and bad ones too.

If you can't afford a Mueller APV, the BSA Sweet .22 is a real good scope, usually. I've had several Barska scopes that worked well for me, but seen other examples that were junk. I ran into enough Tasco junk years ago that I just gave up on them and haven't tried one in years.

You should be able to find the Simmons 22mag 4x32 for around $30. No personal experience but it gets good reviews at the price point.
BSA Sweet 22 is as inexpensive as I've gone on a scope and have no regrets with it.

My bsa sweet 22 was not that great. The target turrets would slip and the Allen set screws were soft metal and easy to strip. It came with different turrets for different weight bullets. I sold it and just put a walmart centerpoint on.

Speaking to the brand and not specifically your needs for a .22

I had a glass etched series scope on a Ruger M77 MkII .223 that held zero for two years before I sold the gun.

Liked it so much I have the same scope on a .308 right now. Bought it on a budget for deer season. Plan to upgrade soon but definitely recommend BSA. I would go BSA on a budget any day. Warranty and customer service are said to be good, however I haven't needed either. They just worked for me.
