Magnifiers
There seems to be a plethora of different magnifiers out there for the modern sporting rifles. They vary vastly in price as well. I can understand paying a little for a good optic, but is it really necessary for a magnifier? It doesn't have to do anything but have clear lenses and magnify. What do you run with and why? If you don't use one, why not?

Re: Magnifiers
The benefits of an expensive magnifier over a cheap one is not going to be apparent to the casual user.
Glass quality, ruggedness, mounting options, eye relief, water tightness among other things that aren't apparent at all such as consistency and quality in the product make for the price difference.
You could probably shoot just as well at the range with a ncstar magnifier and PA red dot as you could with name brand stuff from aimpoint and eotech. When it comes to harsh environments and 24/7 duty use the cheap stuff won't hold up.
