Actually to make reliable hits at long distance , you really benefit from some of the features. Sure its not a scope for a Fud to take to the woods to shoot a deer at 2-200 yards , but making reliable first round hits at long range requires gear.

Granted, that was kind of my point in the first place. This would take considerable training and practice to be proficient, probably more than your average shooter is going to be willing to invest.

Me, on the other hand, if I could afford it, I'd damned well invest the time to master it.
