Mag---pulls?

Post by BlackRifle » Sun Mar 11, 2012 11:06 am

With all the differant types out there- magpul ranger plates, regular magpuls, duct tape and paracord, etc?

What do you like best? Or does anyone else have any better ways for quick mag changes?

This one will have 5000 different answers.

Whatever you choose, train with it 10 times more in dry fire practice than you do in live fire and you will make the best of it.

I'm all for bells, whistles, & doodads as long as they serve a useful purpose for me. In this case, I don't find that they actually add anything to my ability to utilize or manipulate my rifle. IMO, they look cool, and that's about it.

I have some Ranger Plates (gotta great deal on them) and 550 loops.
Both work just fine, used 550 loops during my time in the mil.

Mag---pulls?

If you don't have open top mag carriers then tape or loops is way to go if you need some extra help pulling the mags out. You can push the rubber magpuls down so the flaps will close but it makes it harder to get 2 mags in the double mag pouches and I have noticed if you do that and pull on one mag, the other one follows. I use open top single mag pouches so its not an issue.

no matter that mag you have and whatever crap you add to it, if you don't practice it doesn't mean anything

Oops, wrong thread
blame it on Monday.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I haven't had much chance to play with mag pull equipped magazines, but from what little experience I have had I prefer bare mags.

edit - disclaimer: I think I WOULD like pistol mags with ranger plates, but haven't had any chance to try them out.

All those gadgets do(for me) is get in the way and cause problems. I took them all off my mags because it's so much easier storing multiple mags without any goofy endplate things on them.

The regular magpuls are my favorite. Even if I don't use the loop I like having the rubber wraped around the mag.
