AWS plate carrier *Updated with pics

Post by Buccman37 » Fri Sep 19, 2014 5:28 pm

I was thinking of picking up a surplus IOTV without soft armor. The question I have is would anyone know what would be good padding to use for the iotv in case I decided to go with the steel plates? I would put the padding were the soft armor would go.
Thanks!

I would think kevlar/aramid soft panels would be a good choice.

Oh it would be nice to have those but the soft panels alone would cost more than the iotv and steel plates together

I haven't shopped for them recently, but I would think surplus units could be found for reasonable money. Just a thought.

Finally received it for $171 after shipping. Took them forever to get them in stock but their customer service was pretty good. Anyone want some pics of it? oh and I found soft side panels at a surplus store at $20 for the set.

I do not have plates at this time.

Finally got some more pouches, this is an AWS "fast mag" pouch on front. It was a plastic insert inside making it very rigid.
