Slings are hugely subjective I mean there are so many ways to use them and really no wrong or right way , just what works for you. I myself like a 2 point , I wont argue the whole 1 point 2 point thing. I have found ways to use a 2 point the same way as a single point and I like being able to jump off a deer stand ladder , or ride a 4 wheeler without getting beat up by a swinging rifle. I also like the old GI slings that are popular in the Appleseed program, I like being able to run a loop sling when I need to.
On my short list of slings that are out there I like these the best
Vtac, though the ALICE buckle is gross overkill and over complicated, and the webbing is to thick.
Vcas, Lacks the range of adjustment I like and the webbing is again pretty extreme for somthing that carries at most a 12 pound load
Way of the gun sling, lacks any sort of quick adjust but they got the whole simple lightweight thing down, when it comes down to it though its a cheap wally world strap with some para cord, people been running these for 5 to 7 bucks for years with out the way of the gun label.
IDF sling, its simple light, a bit wide, but really lacks any sort of quick adjust, still its nice on old KISS type rifles and AK47s
GI sling, its great for positional shooting but no so much for anything else.
I really hate what seems to be a trend to build them beyond what is needed, the webbing that gets used now a days is gross overkill , and it seems like they do it to make some claim that it some how makes there sling better. Im not binding down APCs in a cargo hull with it, its holding my rifle , fancy buckles that could moor a boat , its just not needed , and not worth the extra weight or bulk.
I have just not found a single sling that suits my needs or desires , so I made it.
Simple lightweight webbing, 3 triglides/ladder locks and a simple buckle.
