What is your pick for a suppressed .22 pistol. Please list why, and any experiences you have had. Also, maybe the suppressor you are running on your pistol.

I got a Huntertown G22 run it on a P22 and gsg1911. Both work great. P22 is my favorite just because of the feal.

SWR Spectre II on a SR22, feels good & most ammo stays subsonic on the short barrel. Sometimes run it on the GF's P22 but I don't really like that pistol due to the trigger, materials, and takedown vs SR22. Also run it on a S&W 2206 but it's rather heavy with that setup.

A 22/45 is the best host IMHO.....

Others named are fine...but 22/45, in my experience, seems to cycle and run the best with a suppressor

100% positively, zero 2nd thoughts, 22/45. In particular 4.5" Paclite upper 22/45 with Volquartzin trigger kit. Absolutely beautiful trigger, nice sights, very accurate, weighs nothing hardly, slim to no maintenance, and feeds ANYTHING, ANYTIME... I went nearly 3000 rounds before running a bore snake or wiping it even once before having any issues. And 75% or more were suppressed. IT WAS FIIIIILTHY!!! haha Has one small inconvenience to me, disassembly and reassembly kinda sucky... Not a great lefty option tbough.
2nd is probably a tie between M&P22 compact (not the full size) and Colt 1911-22 and a close 3rd would be SR22.

I have hardly shot my 22/45 Paclite since I picked up a PPK/S. Because who doesn't want to be James Bond.

22/45 with a spectre II and a p22 with a guardian 22. Both run great. When I find a deal on a m&p 22 compact I'll add it to the collection

Do .22 suppresor require all those trusts and stuff?

And does the suppressor which adds length to the barrel make you more accurate?

.22 suppressors require all the same paperwork any other suppressor does.

As for accuracy, a suppressor will typically cause a POI shift, but as far as accuracy..it's not really adding length to the barrel as there is no rifling so no.

Very cool! I've handle but not shot one yet. I still choose the 22/45 as a beater/workhorse though. PPK/S trigger is not as good and I would have to give more of a shit about it and keep it cleaner and stuff...haha

I can't tell a difference in poi in my pistols at all. Maybe if in a vise and all variables taken out it may slightly. Rifles have veeeery little, but does have a little change in poi... I never hardly fire my FVSR unsuppressed so I don't change anything on it.

Through voodoo magic and ballistic wizardry, it's not uncommon for accuracy to improve when suppressed. Velocity should increase when suppressed over unsuppressed, all else being equal. Point of impact changes are USUALLY noticeable, regardless of suppressor quality. Good suppressors will change the POI in the same way every time so that it can be reliably compensated for without firing to rezero.

I *suspect* that in the cases where the bump in accuracy is noticeable the improvement has more to do with the shooter than ballistics.

It's a lot easier to press the trigger properly when you know you're not going to cause a very loud explosion.

But improvement is improvement, whatever the cause.

And back to the original question, barrel length has nothing to do with accuracy aside from the effects that result from the change in velocity.

Also, having some weight farther out the end of the gun helps you hold it steady.

I like my M&P 22 compact the best. Even stingers come out subsonic but runs 100 percent on any .22 Ammo (other than chi quiet, which it almost does)

Also it is the same dimensions as my shield so makes a great trainer

Having a new toy, I would HIGHLY recommend the new SW22 Victory also. As of tonight, I have ruffly 250rds through it and it's had 3 failure to ejects. Barrel was definitely hot for all three of those. Being 5.5" barrel, I'm getting a super sonic crack about 2 out of each mag (10rds) with normal HV ammo (mix of Blazer, Fed, & Aguila) , that I never get out of my 4.5" options. Opened the pistol a day started shooting. Not cleaned or lubed since I bought it Sat. For stainless barrel, slide and bolt, it's very clean out of the box. Slim to no ruff edges or poor casting at all.

I would have to agree. My Victory threaded required some cleaning out of the box, but has run everything I've thrown at it save for Super Colibri rds, which don't cycle ANYTHING, EVER.

Accuracy has been very good, right up there with my Buckmark Hunter or any of my MK IIs.

I dislike saying anything nice about a new S&W, as they have hardly earned any points with anything new in years, but the .22 Victory is a winner, at a reasonable price.

Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.
