22/45 mag cleaning

Post by Niceguy » Thu Dec 04, 2014 5:54 pm

How in the hell do you clean the shit out of the inside of these skinny little mags? They seem to be getting like a lube/rust mix of gunk in them. I have a few that are starting to not feed perfect like they always have. After I get them good and clean, would baking them in some kind of lube help the inside? The outside is easy to keep clean and rust free.

That would probably work. I need to look into one of those. I have a dozen or so that need it. 3 or 4 that don't feed 100%.

Picked up a sonic cleaner from Harbor Freight for $64 (12/13 &12/14 still available in store) and it worked BADASS! Now I have another question. Any advice on how to keep them from getting surface rust? The outside is no problem to wipe down but no matter how lite a lube I use makes them gum up really fast on the inside. Any thoughts on baking Froglube in them and then wiping any residue out?
