SR22 mods

Post by Niceguy » Wed Oct 15, 2014 11:28 am

I'm picking up a threaded SR22 today for a really good deal. I've shot a non-threaded one and liked it. Trigger was kinda shitty though. Any good trigger improvements for these things out there? Any other good cheap mods also?

Don't know any trigger tricks on the SR 22 pistol. All I've ever done to mine was add the threaded barrel. The barrel screw under the trigger needs to be checked periodically to make certain it stays tight, keeping the barrel from moving and sending accuracy to shit.

I suspect that if the mag safety were to be disabled/removed, it would likely have a positive effect on the trigger, but have seen no data on how to do the job.

Just as a warning, if you ever get ballsy and decide to pull it apart...

Be ready for flying parts and many hour is cussing and screaming to get it back together.

Especially the sear group and associated springs. It's a nightmare in there.

First one took me 2.5 hours to get the sear group back in. Has 3 springs that have to be wound to the correct spot and held while you get the next. They have to have some sort of jig at te factory to hold it all.

Also the hammer spring is inside the hammer and is stout. Pain in the dick to get it back in.
