Picked up a High Standard

Post by GunningBadger » Wed Sep 12, 2012 4:37 pm

So I went to check on some items waiting at my SOT and a high standard HB followed me home. It was kind of an impulse buy and I'm not sure if Im going to keep it I just couldn't say no. So. What do you guys think? I kind of want to turn it into a suppressor host (call already in to cranky for a quote) but I'm not sure. Any input is appreciated!

I wouldn't "ruin" an HB like that, even if it is a type2. So many other 22s you could buy for a silencer host.

I have an old High Standard .22 and they are great shooters. I agree with Jmeister, but it's your gun.

Take this from the suppressed .22 feako-fanatic: don't molest this beautiful piece of firearms history. If you want a suppressor host there are many other candidates that lack the history & rarity of this piece.

My .02 worth, fwiw.

Damn it. I think you guys are right. It really does hurt to think about cutting into this gorgeous piece. I really want to be an OSS agent though.... :llama: Alright Alright. You guys win. I'll leave it alone for now. Without telling you what I paid for it any idea what this guy is worth?

I'd have to say between $250 & $350, depending on condition.

I found a spare mag on Gunbroker here: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =305046074

They're talking you out of business cranky!! I'm still torn. I love my other .22 hosts but this would just be too cool.
