First 10/22 build

Post by RecoilSensitive » Wed Feb 13, 2013 11:21 am

Ok i have looked around and seen some different 10/22's i like

I was able to pick up a new synthetic stock 18" barrel 10/22 and a bunch or 25 rd mags for it.

now i want to start making it my own

I do not plan on making this an all out target gun (just not me really)

I do however want a pretty accurate gun that does will with paced fire as well

Here is what I am thinking

Trigger: trigger job done by the .22 guru
Stock: looking at hogue and a couple others a folding would be nice tho
Barrel: would not mind a bull but dont want to pay 275 for a tac sol but want it to be pretty light
Optics: looking at small red dots as well as 3x9 scopes still undecided right now. i think a lot of it will do with what stock i choose
Extras: what else KAC

let me know what you guys have used and seen I hope to start this project ASAP

Green mountain barrels are a great bang for buck barrel.

Trigger could be done by you, not really that hard. I prefer power customs parts.

the issue with any steel bull barrel is they are heavy! I have a Adams & Bennett 18" .920 barrel on mine. it groups amazingly, but it is heavy is hell. I am looking to switch it to a tactical solutions barrel soon. as a matter of fact I just had one in my shopping cart on Midway, but they do not have any promotion codes in effect at the moment.

VQ, or mag research barrels are lite weight, accurate, but a little pricey

Don't get a butler creek polymer barrel, they change POI with temp changes, or rapid fire

I have a steel barrel and it shoots very nice for the price. Just to damn heavy. Pretty sure I'll be going Tactical Solutions or Volquartzen on my build.

My lite weight build has a Butler creek soft touch stock, and a mag research carbon barrel. It is crazy lite, and accurate. It is my normal pack around 10/22
