Haven't messed with a takedown. Love my dad's old 10/22 though. What's so bad about the takedowns?

It's totally visual for me. I just think it's stupid looking. Functionality is fine to me. They feel the same to me when shooting them. The Volquartsen one I think looks pretty cool though.

What's the price tag on one of those?
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

The 10/22 Takedown I got for Mrs. W a few years ago has been as good as any of my other 8 10/22 rifles, plus it has the benefit of being a nice tight, low profile, easy to use package.

Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

Can you quantify? I have a stock one that I used at an Appleseed and it performed well. Not as well as that custom, tack river I bought from you a few year ago, but well enough to get me another rifleman score.

Purely an opinion. I don't see the need to break down the rifle. I'm sure someone will say to fit in a backpack or something. I think its just goofy.

ahhh. Just wondered. I know you have quite a bit of experience with the rifle.

Why would I want a rifle at a camp I cant just roll off my back and fire?

Don't you start with the logical comebacks...haha

I'm on your side, I don't like them... If I were going for something like that, it would be my Sub2k anyway.

Calling something garbage because it has an extra feature that doesn't affect your use of it, positively OR negatively, is a little silly to me. Let people spend their money if they see value/capability added.

I've never understood the logic of having a rifle that will break down in two parts so it will fit *inside* a backpack.

But logic doesn't always govern our purchases.
