10/22 stock mod

Post by Niceguy » Fri Jun 05, 2015 11:01 am

I bought a freaking awesome factory Ruger DSP stock and need to modify if to fit a .920 barrel. What is the best way to do this? Is there a special tool, or maybe a broom handle with some 40-80gr sandpaper on it? Also what is the best way to tell if it's touching anywhere? It there a powder or washable dye to help tell?

Broom handle sounds good. Just loop a dollar bill around barrel and slide it up to the receiver and anywhere the bill gets stuck is where the stock touches.

Woowoo told me a really good way to do it. Wrap sand paper around a socket and start cutting it down. I've done it twice with good success.

I use a barrel rasp and a scraper with a round blade.
Like J stag97 said a piece of paper for a gauge.
