New Ruger 10/22 Rifle mags don't fit correctly

Post by Next » Wed Jan 14, 2015 6:43 pm

Bought a Ruger 10/22 anniversary today and the mags don't work right. You have to almost pry the 10 round mag out and the Ruger high caps are too wide for the stock to fit.

Will be sending back to Ruger..... :?

QC fail
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Mike, just a thought: Jack is usually pretty good about taking care of these sort of things. That way no shipping and handling BS to go through if he handles it.

Jack swapped out the stock in the store and now it seems to work okay from the mag perspective. The bolt catch is not staying open on last round so will try it out the weekend with ammo and see if everything works okay.

He had one in shop that did hold back. I tested it today twice.

Uhmmm bolt hold open should hold bolt up when you press it in.
And if not I happen to have a replacement in the shop that is a Voltasag.

It holds bolt open on when you pull bolt back, and push in the bolt release in, but not a factory last shot hold open. UNLESS, Ruger Has changed lately

My 10/22 only holds open when you press in the button. I didn't know they had a typical last round bolt hold open type action.

JOnwoods is right the magazine does not have a notched follower or a cutout in factory mag body.
