10/22 pricing

Post by 1fastmach1 » Tue Jan 07, 2014 9:39 pm

So I found a 10/22 with the maple stock (layered different colors from brown to tan looking), 10 round mag, 25 round Ruger mag, and it's equipped with a sling. He wants $200 cash. The gun has some obvious wear in the bluing and no telling what the round count is. Apparently the gun has the older metal trigger housing?

I found a brand new 10/22 with the black synthetic stock and factory mag for $209.99. Apparently they have plastic trigger housings now?

Should spend the extra coin and just buy a new one over used? I'm prolly gonna swap the barrel and stock anyway. What do you guys think?

If u plan on switching barrel and stock I'd go with the used one. Just check the receiver and bolt etc. the parts u would use. Save $25 or so by going that route

Extra magazine, sling, Laminated stock, Metal trigger housing, yes .......buy the used one!

I have never seen a 10/22 with a shot out barrel, so I doubt that he has ever put enough rounds through it to shoot it out. Unless he has beat the bore out with a cleaning rod (Far more common then shooting out) I would say good to go. The metal trigger parts housing is more desirable for building but in the grand scheme of things I dont think it makes much difference.

I have a 10/22 with over million rounds down the barrel and still running strong. But I have to agree with coach its worth about 150 - 175 with the 25 round mag.

I have one my dad bought in 1978 or 1979 and bet it has that many also, still shoots great as well.

I got mine in 86. Back when 22 ammo is cheap.

The guy is firm in $200. He said he had to buy a scope mount and a mag. The new ones comes with a scope mount already plus I'll know what it's been through. I think I'm gonna pass and buy a new one for $209. I won't have a metal trigger box but who cares right?

I like the metal triggers. But I have not seen any problems out of the plastic ones. I have to agree why but used if they are the same price. IF it had mods or mags and ammo. That would be another story.

That gun and the extra mag $175 tops. Any thing over that just let it go.
