Needs a bayonet
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

48 inch barrel shotgun
That thing should have outrigger wheels. What gauge and how much does it weigh?

No need , 1973 style house, serious work in progressson of liberty wrote:LOL, man I saw that fireplace and though HOLY S__T that's his front room, Dang ladder , and charcoal , and saw horses, I was so jealous for a sec.
It is 12 gauge
Weights 10.8 pounds
1 inch heavey walled tube , I doubt that the barrel maker did the hole drilling, the previous owner had/did that hack job. That is the level of skill in most "gunsmiths"
I think I will get some longer screws and solder the base and then fit the longer screws with red locktite in the hole and j/b the screw heads.

Re: 48 inch barrel shotgun
It's kind of cool to see one of these again. My dad had one in the 90's. He bought it from some guy that lived just outside of Henryville, IN. I'm not sure who made it but the barrel was bare. It wasn't blued or anything. It was a fun novelty for a while. I'm not sure what happened to it. I think he sold it in the late 90's or early 2000's.

This is called a outlaw or ultimate match gun.
The prizes money is cash , but the side bets can be huge for one shoot.

Re: 48 inch barrel shotgun
Why not just push the target over with the barrel? It's almost long enoughguncrank1 wrote:No it is shot off a benchssracer wrote:Is that a crew served shotgun?

Re: 48 inch barrel shotgun
Here is the customer supplied Weaver rail fitted. Milliput , a epoxcy based tool/model maker immpresion-building clay was used to bed the rail to the brass block that was soldered to barrel.
The holes where fitted with new screws flush with wall and milliputted in.
A support pillar was made out of sheet metal and Milliput to support rail in front.
The customer wants a big honken Famous Maker scope mounted to gun.
When dry I will sand the clay and spray some flat black paint on it.
