Because the shell casing pressing up against the bottom of the bolt will deform from the pressure.
Any one know of any 12ga shells that won't do this?

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Doesn't Wolf sell some metal case ones? Never used them, don't know if they are tough enough to not deform.WLJ wrote:Because the shell casing pressing up against the bottom of the bolt will deform from the pressure.

You could just run, one less round and the might reduce pressure on the top shell... Just a thought

And? You can't stop there, please explain.

I was just going by where I read some people have had the top round in the mag deform over time enough from pressing up against the bottom of the bolt to where it won't chamber. We're not talking over night but in a Saiga 12 kept ready for a period of time.
I'm talking about Saiga 12 stick mags, not tube mags shotguns.
If it's bull I would like to know. Haven't run my own tests yet to test it out.

And even if it did I doubt that would cause a failure to feed

Bolt retracted and let fly
That shell would need to have a lip on it bigger than the diameter of the chamber not to feed.
Can you post a link to this??

Modify a shell with the mashed shape and see if it feeds.

Just something I picked up in other forums where some have said it happen to them, didn't note the links.
Actually this is my only shotgun, never been a shotguner, I'm learning. Sounds I need to spend some time test this, any idea how long to let one sit like that to prove or disprove it? Different brands of shells may effect this.
