Most likely a worthless tip

Post by KYgundude » Fri Nov 23, 2012 6:00 pm

I have the "go to" shotgun just standing in the corner I reach for in an emergency. I realized that it gets quite dusty over time. My solution is to hang a shop rag over the end of the barrel. The rag drops right off if you grab the gun and it keeps my wall from getting the mark.

Even with a shop rag over the barrel, a spider can still weave a web inside, a mouse can commit suicide, a midget can take a dump and wipe with the rag, etc....
I would just clean the gun every month or two with or without the rag just to know its clean and good to go.

I don't do it to reduce the amount of cleaning. I shoot the gun every month or two. I just do it because i don't want dust in my shotgun barrel.

I know exactly what you mean. As long as you clean it, the rag will help.
I remember seeing something online about some people using condoms for this as well.

Stuff a cotton ball in barrel. No dust and it removes itself.
Oh, how so high they fly........ only further to fall.

The shit gets dusty. I don't like it. I cover it. No more dust in barrel.
