Browning A5 value?

Post by Niceguy » Sun Nov 20, 2016 8:25 pm

A guy I know has a mint browning A5 factory camo'ed up and is looking to get rid of it. I've been thinking of getting into bird hunting so thinking of picking it up. He has all factory stuff and a few extra chokes it didn't come with, can't remember the names of them. What is a fair price for it?

No, it was factory camo. I guess hydrodipped maybe, not sure how they do it. Not sure, I'll ask him when I see him again. Should I avoid one other the other?

I think it's in the 5-10 year old range. He bought it new to hunt with a few years and lost interest. He's an impulse buyer kinda guy... I'm hoping I can trade him an AR for it. He's wanting an AR, but unfortunately (for me not having a cheap one...haha) he wants an AR10.

I think it was the shadow grass one but not being a camo person, I didn't pay a lot of attention.

A thousand off MSRP? I'd be down for that in a second! I seriously doubt he will though...haha As a side reference, Uncle Lees had these new for $1399.99 yesterday.

I'm hoping to get this on trade. For a whole lot less than it's actual value... :)

I've been around a few Benelli's that were extremely finicky and it has kinda scared me off of them a little. They have great reps, but my experiences have not been good with them. All 3 people blamed it on being dirty, but none of the 4 different guns were very dirty. Or at least my idea of dirty...haha

For hunting it would probably be my choice. I think Mikes has the 12 ga lower end one for like 799. Yes I understand the trade deal. I wouldn't put 1400 in a camoed Browning anything. I don't care what it is .

I like Benelli and guess I could use my M4 but I like the look of the Benelli hunting shotguns, they are all shiny and my boss has a couple of the Monte's and never had an issue.

Me either. Unless I can fall into it at a really good deal, I don't want it. On the lower end, I'll probably would end up with a hunting version of my Mossberg 930. I've had 2 that have been fantastic! And a good value at their price. USA made is nice also. I'm definitely not a brand stickler. I'd still like to have a Benelli, I just don't want to pay their normal cost and it be a pos like the 4 of their high end hunting autos that I've been around.
