Shotgun woes

Post by Toecutter1978 » Fri May 29, 2015 1:32 pm

So I've been meaning to post this up. Last Saturday I had the BSA shoot/fellowship. My 870 was acting funny, real funny. After discharging the shot, it would lock up, not letting the pump action operate. This happened mid way through the pigeon shoot. After disassembled it, there was gouges in the top of the chamber, where the bolt lock was digging in. At first I though the slide block might have been put in backwards, but it was not. After filing the gouges out, I had two other sets of eyes watch the reassembly to ensure proper procedure was followed. After 5 rounds it did the same thing again. Could the action bars nut be too tight causing everything out of whack? Mods include a Blackhawk gen2 recoil stock. I didn't take pics, I should have.

Second, on the KSG, the truglo holo sight I had installed went all bonkers after 60 rounds. It would not hold a zero even after putting locktite on the adjustment screws. I need to come up with a better sight, nothing that requires batteries anymore. AR sights will work, but they are not as fast as a bead. I'm thinking of putting together a truglo starbrite bead sight on a rail attachment somehow. Ideas? Thank you.

This is the folding model but the picture shows what the back end looks like on both verisons.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

870 sounds like it is "out of time"

KSG - like WLQ said use a peep sight set up.

I've seen MikeC's 870 do that before. Don't know if he ever sorted out what caused it.
