Hey I'm looking at an older model ruger vaquero in 45 lc. I've always thought these were cool pistols but not sure of value new ones seem to go the $550 to $600 range... I know they changed frames in 2004 and the one I'm looking at is 15 years old.

Personally, I like the older and larger frame Vaqueros. They can handle the "ruger" loads.I already have some warm loads for the 45 colt Blackhawks. Wouldn't want to get them mixed up. Geno

As Dave mentioned, anything will sell if the price is right.

With that said, single action revolvers are slower to move than other types of handguns, in my experience. I attribute this to the fact that while most of us own multiple semiautos, few of us own more than two or three single action revolvers. In fact, many of the so-called "Gun Culture 2.0" crowd own no revolvers of any kind.

It's a shame, when you think about it.

If you do buy this you'll want to reload for it, as 45 Colt ammo is ridiculously expensive these days.

Will be forever to move at that price. My local shop had a blued one in excellent condition for probably about a year. The fact that it was blue and a 45 LC too was what hurt it. Priced at 450 for that long.

+1 on reloading. With Unique or Universal powder nice pleasant 700 to 1000 fps loads for 255 grain lead bullets. The other end can be 325 grain hard cast WFN lead bullets beyond 44 mag power at less pressure. This is a really versatile cartridge and can do just about anything you would ask of a revolver or nice levergun. If you don't reload, it can easily be a dollar or double per round.

I have bought it for as little as $30 a box at gun shows, but you get it where you can find it sometimes. Its not something you go out and shoot everyday usually though if you are a casual shooter like me.
