1911 trigger job?
1911 trigger job?
Who here has done one themselves? Looking to lighten the trigger weight some, don't mind replacing small parts but don't want to spend a few hundred on it. Sig Tac Ops 1911 in 45acp if it matters.

Drop in mainspring to reduce pull weight or stoning contact surfaces? Cylinder & slide has springs down to 3.5# if I recall. There is a YouTube series about hand building a 1911, but it looks like $$ for the tools required.

Yes I have done several, you can do it with out a jig or other fixtures.
But if you have IMI parts then forget it and get forged ones instead.
