What's it going on?
I've used them- they will 'drop in' the frame but still need to be fitted with the spring...and functionally at ok but look like crap on most applications.
Your best bet is buying/borrowing the beavertail jig and modifying the frame to fit one. It's easy to use and looks 100 times better.

My recently acquired New Agent whoops the $hit out of the webbing of my pudgy little hand with its bobbed tail. I don't know if it's actually biting me or if it's just digging in too much but either way, after about 100 rounds, I'm spent. I don't really want to modify the frame but I can if need be. If you do not recommend a drop in, then which one do you recommend?

Ed Brown beavertail

Requires rounding framing and fitting more than the spring
Also fit to trigger.
