Project Gun

Post by Harb » Fri Apr 27, 2012 4:23 pm

I have the opportunity to buy a Colt WWII 1911 upper. Slide, barrel, everything. Problem is, it doesn't come with a frame. I've heard some good things about Essex and Caspian for making "shooter" guns. If I buy, I was thinking about going that route.

Opinions? Experiences?

There are a few 1911 guys in here, I can't believe they haven't chimed in yet.

Depending on the condition of the slide and barrel, you could re sell them and fund a good portion of a complete pistol. Of course that also partly depends on the price you have to pay to get them.

Return to “1911s”
