1911 sights
So I want to get new sights on my RIA. It has the GI setup right now. I want a night sight, and good in daylight also. Suggestions?

Re: 1911 sights
You could go with something like this if you want minimal effort to install, doesn't require milling the rear of the slide.
Brownells and other suppliers have a wide array to choose from. Pick one you like, there is at least one good smith on this site that would probably install them for you if required.

Re: 1911 sights
No decision necessary, Novak night sights are the preferred combat sight among most 1911 carriers, and have been for decades, for a reason.

Re: 1911 sights
So I am confused on which ones to order. What type of sights are these on the slide, the info I gave found said they are GI, but the notch seems like the Novak notch.

Night sights require a special staking tool for front sight
Novak are 60 degree dovetailed.
Your slide would require a new front dovetail and a dovetail and relief cut on rear.

Re: 1911 sights
Dawson has some good choices too.
and the way to go if current sight height isn't point of impact, they have trig formula on website to calculate.

Re: 1911 sights
i think i need to order some noval mount night sights and have you fit my ultra compact for them. the rear already has a novak sight in place. the front on the other hand is a staked sight
