DIY Custom 1911 Nightstand Drawer (pics)
So once a year I typically find a DIY to do and since its 2014 I've found another. I've always liked the custom fit 1911 cases, but who has space for that???? I decided to do the same thing, except in a nightstand.
Supplies:
Razor blade
Long knife
Marker
Foam from Hobby Lobby
Can of spray paint
Heres the pics that show how i did it. In chronological order.....
All in all this was fun and super easy.

As it's for the nightstand gun, I'd cut a little extra out around the grip to make grabbing it in a hurry easier, but that's pretty cool

well, the shotgun is more for home defense... but if this were my go to gun I'd agree.ssracer wrote:As it's for the nightstand gun, I'd cut a little extra out around the grip to make grabbing it in a hurry easier, but that's pretty cool

I agree with Racer and Frailer, I would definitely add extra room around the grip and make a spot for a light. I really like this idea, though.
So, you don't need room because you don't plan to need it, but you keep it in your bedside drawer because you might need it?

It's more of a novelty project my man. I do not intend on keeping it like this permanently. after all, I realize the limitations this creates... For $5 bucks it was fun. That's all. My moss 500 and judge will remain my true quick access weapons should I need them. Thanks for the advice though.

Thought about adding a cut-out for a flashlight?

I might do this and add a space for condoms so they don't get all lost in the drawer when I need em
