My Customized RIA
She’s been through a few changes since I picked her up about 8 years ago from a member on the old site. Started life as a plain 1911A1 then I added some Novak sights, cocobolo grips and parts from another member’s stainless Kimber and had it duracoated black. Then decided I wanted tan and black two tone cerakote. Recently I decided more changes were in order.

Re: My Customized RIA
I dropped it off at Accurate Armory and ordered a set of Ed Brown night sights and VZ Grips. Had the front strap checkered, front cocking serrations, flat top with grooves and beveled muzzle. Then the whole thing resprayed in Tungsten cerakote.

Re: My Customized RIA
Thanks, I do too. And between the VZ grips and the front strap checkering there’s no way it’s coming loose in the hand now..lol

Re: My Customized RIA
I like all of the changes from original to the final version. I may do one in the FDE. All the machining looks awesome. I think they will be getting some of my work soon.
I was only going to build one...

Re: My Customized RIA
I like that you got the sharp edges knocked off the slide. Of all the possible custom things people do to a 1911, this is probably the most useful yet most overlooked.
