1911 Carry Ammo

Post by RecoilSensitive » Mon Dec 09, 2013 8:36 pm

Okay looking for opinions of what ammo you guys carry in your 1911. I am getting a 4" Springfield that will be HD and some carry.

I got some PMC starfire for basically nothing but looking for what other ammo you guys use.

Thanks.

My carry pistol is a 45, but not a 1911. I keep it loaded with Rem. 230 gr. jhp. Also carry 2 extra mags, 1 with jhp, the other 230 gr. fmj.

1911 Carry Ammo

Post by 1fastmach1 » Mon Dec 09, 2013 8:58 pm

I use the hornady 185 grain ftx critical defense. I got a deal on 360 rounds of it. I've ran a lot of it and my 1911 hasn't flenched. It was the first stuff I had bought and I've stuck with it.

I bought a shield and I've been carrying it.

Thanks. Based in responses and pm I think I am going to try some hydra, gold dot, and HST all in 230 grain standard pressure.

Is it possible to go wrong with any of those? ;)
