Night Sights for Shield 9mm

Post by 1fastmach1 » Sat Aug 16, 2014 3:09 pm

I'm looking to purchase a set of night sights for a 9mm Shield. I don't know much about any of the brands out there so I need some help. If you were looking for a decent set of night sights that won't break the bank, what would you choose? Also, where would you get them? I've seen several online retailers.

I run the ameriglo pro-I dots on mine. Pretty happy with them.

I have the Trijicon H3 14s on mine, very nice. Depends on the size of the bank if they'll break it though.

The profile is not bad, and the rounded edges don't give me any problem on pockets or holster.

I've looked at the Trijicon sights a lot the last few days and I like them. They are expensive though. I like the Ameriglo sights though. The price is right too. Are they bright like the Trijicon set?

Bright enough, when looking over at my nightstand a few feet away every night I can clearly pick out the sights.

Really just comes down to if you like the traditional 3 dot sights or the 2 dot.

I don't have a Shield, but I'm a fan of Ameriglo sights in general. They use Trijicon vials, if that helps your decision.

As an aside, Ameriglo has great customer service, as well. A couple of years ago I ordered a couple of rear sights that were shown as "in stock" on their website. The next day a rep called to tell me they were actually out of stock. He apologized profusely and offered to send me a comparable set at half price. They won themselves a customer for life.

I really like the classic three dot night sights that Ameriglo has to offer. I'm really leaning towards these. Besides, who doesn't love the idea of great customer service?
