Best quality Sigs I ever owned were made in Germany. The US made ones were on par with Taurus.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I think all of the military 226's and older 228's were US made. My sig is US made. Only thing I have ever heard is the us made magazines suck.

Sights off center and tooling marks on my US made 226. The German one I had owned before was made so much better. It seemed the top of the barrel and the frame had excessive wear as well.

My duty gun is a 229 and after thousands of rounds I had the rear sight slip to the side. It was loose enough that I could pull it right out. Put a little loctite on it and good as new. Not sure if I'd call that a problem or maintenance issue.
