Diamonback db380 and a keltec p11. The diamondback was a jam-o-matic POS. I couldnt ever get off more than 2-3 rounds without malfunctioning. The keltec p11 has to have the absolute worst trigger of any firearm ever made.

Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
Ruger 22/45 lite -- every other round jammed I don't think I ever got a full magazine out of it unless I shot cci stingers. And it was terribly inaccurate

Lorcin 380 single stack mag. Ftf and trigger would pinch your finger.

Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
Jennings J9 9mm. First handgun purchase when I was 21. HORRIBLE. Jammed every few rounds. I reshaped and polished the feed ramp. That fixed the feed issues. The takedown button would remove chunks of meat from the thumb knuckle. Ground and polished that. Fixed that issue. Then the "cocked" indicator flew out the back while shooting hitting me in the face. Utter piece of crap.
Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
I was sadly disappointed with a Colt Pony that I bought new for right at $ 450.00. It was a DAO .380.The trigger pull was terrible and the sights might as well have not been there, they were so small. The size and lack of a hammer and levers to snag on, was great for pocket carry. I guess for a backup or get off of me gun it had its place but I traded it off. This was about the time that the Defenders came out and Colt was running a promotion that if you bought a Defender they would give you a leather range bag. With the Pony or Mustangs you would get a T shirt. The thing was the T shirts were small, medium or large. When I filled out the rebate form I told them I needed a 2xl so I was surprised when I got a range bag in the mail.

Beretta PX4 Storm (9mm), DAO model.
Shitty trigger.
Maybe not the worst overall gun I have fired, but that one sticks out as being pretty bad.

Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
Prolly one of the pf9's I have had. I want to like them so much be used it is a nice single stack 9 but the triggers blow and the grip is horrid.
After that maybe my S&W sigma 40 post lawsuit. It's trigger is so bad and sometimes the sear doesn't reset. It sits in the safe.

Kel-Tec P32 and Taurus Millenium 45.
Kel tec had the shittiest trigger I have ever shot and the Taurus would fail to feed about every 4th round. Changed mags multiple times, had the feed ramp polished, nothing worked with that piece of shit..

Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
Rohm 22 short revolver: this revolver would fail to fire about 50% of the time in da. In sa it always went bang. The firing pin was shaped like an ax and attatched to the hammer. The screws holding the gun together would come loose randomly.
Jennings j22- fail to feed all the time. Jamomatic. Trigger sucked too.
Taurus pt740 slim- it was my buddy's. The only thing i didnt like about the gun was the extremely long trigger pull. The trigger would have to come all the way back to the point of touching the grip to fire. It fed and fired flawlessly, but that trigger pull was horrible.
Taurus judge- great gun. Loved it. Fun to shoot. Cool as hell. But it has a 3.5 ton trigger pull. Ok, maybe 1.5 tons. Your fingers will be sore after shooting this gun for a while.

Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
First gen S&W Sigma .40 S&W, the single shittiest handgun I have ever encountered. The absolute worst trigger I ever had the utter displeasure to try to use, up until the Sig Mosquito came along. That Sigma would not feed 2 rounds in a row, even manually. It set the record for shortest lived handgun in my inventory, it lasted exactly 30 days before I sold it. And I felt bad about selling to the guy who bought it, giving him full disclosure as to it's myriad problems, but he was just so certain that it was me and not the gun. He sold it 30 days later at the Houston gun show.
Next would be that Mosquito I mentioned. It took more work to get to run than any other pistol I have ever encountered. It took a year, 1000 rds of MiniMag, every trick I knew, a trip to Bill Springfield in Co. Springs for a trigger job, plus many of Cranky's best tricks to get it run worth a damn. I would never have put all that work into it had it not been nearly free to me, won in the raffle at the "other" site. I just got to the point that I was absolutely not going to let that POS get the best of me. Now that it runs pretty good, I fear to use it, just knowing that the Zamak slide is going to come apart on me one day.
Even the Raven Arms .25 my first wife used to carry was better than either of those POS's! I hated it with a purple passion, too, but it was all she would willingly carry because it was small, & "cute", being shiney and pretty to look at. I made sure it was reliable and just stayed close with my Glocks, just in case. I will say that she was quite capable of hitting what she shot at with it, though.

Ya that 13lb trigger got me to, but for a noob it taught me much about control.

The Smith and friggin Wesson Airweight with .38 Special +P. That is the only time I have ever felt such painful recoil from a handgun. I didn't care for my friend's Makarov either. The grip kept irritating a certain place on my palm with every shot, but it was a cool, accurate little piece.

Screw hole on palm grip causes this. Fixable by filling the whole in.Harb wrote:. I didn't care for my friend's Makarov either. The grip kept irritating a certain place on my palm with every shot, but it was a cool, accurate little piece.
Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if I ever get one (unlikely).Toddstang wrote:Screw hole on palm grip causes this. Fixable by filling the whole in.Harb wrote:. Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
I'll second the DB380 as a jam-o-matic POS. Bought it for my wife to carry. Useless paperweight. I'd feel safer carrying a rock.

Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
A Bernadelli 380. I liked the way it felt in my hand, but when I was reloading the magazine at the range, I looked down at the bench and noticed a piece of metal laying there. I checked the gun, and the trigger had broken off after I shot it. Craziest damn thing I'd ever seen. POS!!!!!

Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
Seems that I get the crappest gun to "fix" and some actually are OK, other are POS.
The worst was a first generation S&W Sigma SW9, that was so badly fitted that you could popsicle stick between the slide and frame.
I could not get it to fire and nethier could S&W, they replaced with a newer model

Re: Crappiest handgun you have shot?
Back during the AWB, I picked up one of the Bushmaster carbon pistols. SN 3### and I think the mag sat too low. It would only function reliably if you pushed the mag forward. Otherwise it would jam the point of the bullets into the plastic below the barrel. Sent it back twice then ditched it at a gun show.
