Vintage Military Rifles Anyone?
Here is my US Rifle, Cal. .30, M1:
If you attend an Appleseed rifle marksmanship clinic you meet the marksmanship requirement to purchase one of these from the CMP at a discount. I bought this for $595.00 (+ Ohio sales tax) at the CMP store at Camp Perry. They will even ship it to your front door if you don't want to travel! The hardware has shot sub MOA, but the "software" is usually limited to about 4 MOA.
And this is my SKS Type 56:
I have done some mods to this rifle:
Added Tech-Sights, added front and rear sling swivels and a GI web sling, had a trigger job done and added a trigger over-travel stop, added a 1" buttstock extension, removed the bayonet lug, and added non-skid tape on the buttplate. Next I am going to add a higher comb and I may do something with the grip. This rifle has shot sub 2 MOA.

Re: Vintage Military Rifles Anyone?
Two Korean Garands I bought, but were not safe to shoot so sent them back. SOG guns. Total crap. Ad said they needed a "Little" TLC.
Make sure you ask how the barrel gauges. I didn't and got burned, $100 lesson between shipping and FFL fees.
Re: Vintage Military Rifles Anyone?
The CMP is awesome! I love vintage military rifles! I've ordered a couple of Garands, a M1 Carbine, and an '03 from there. Send in an order form and a check, next thing you know fed-ex shows up with a box of fun. Last I looked they were out of just about everything except Garands though. Take advantage while you can.
I come in peace, I didn't bring artillery. But I am pleading with you with tears in my eyes: If you f*** with me, I'll kill you all.
