My 44/40

Post by TheMrMitch » Thu May 31, 2012 12:05 am

Picked a SS lightning style 44/40 And need some opinions on it.
It has been shortened at the breech. Cycles well, though I have no ammo.
Got some coming:

This is awesome Mitch..........

My grandpa hand a 44/40 pistol and matching rifle similar to this........I was too young to remember details, but remember that was all he talked about..........they were his pride and joy, lol........

Nice pick up!

It shor is! I may have some 44-40 brass laying around, if I can find it, would you like to have it? Even if I do find it, I may be mistaken and it's 45-70. I'll dig around and see which it is.

Cranky...best I can 'figger' it"s a repro of Colt lightning. Seller sez brass gets mangled at extraction.
Soon as I can I'll shoot it. May have to have some chamber work....dunno.
