Depending on how easy it is to make the swap and carry the necessary pieces, it could definitely be useful. More common caliber options can't be a bad thing.

It will likely be the price of a barrel, magazine, and bolt I am guess. Current replacement barrels are like 1100 bucks so add on a bolt (300-400 ) and you are around 1500; or 3 aK's; or 30 goats.
