I don't see the point in making it .30-06 instead of .308....nostalgia is great and all, but if you are gonna modernize the rest of it why not the cartridge

Actually, the only good I see in this so far, beyond looking cool and being neat, is the fact that its chambered in 30/06. While not a huge fan of the round , it means that you can fit Belted magnum round, as well as specialized long range rounds or custom hunting rounds.
