What does that even MEAN? Are they honestly saying, as a serious argument, that "insurrectionists", which I'm also not exactly sure what they mean by, are sexually aroused by a rifle? And if they are, that having a fetish involving an inanimate object is unacceptable when there's FAAAR crazier and fairly accepted fetishes out there?

I object to the term "hardcore insurrectionists"--first because it's redundant (are any folks who advocate overthrow of a government "softcore"?) and second because "insurrectionist" doesn't correctly describe the folks the author is referring to. The proper phrase is "right wing wackadoodles."
(And I mean no offense to those who affiliate with the right; there are at least as many left wing wackadoodles, and they're every bit as crazy as their opponents.)
There are two folks who ascribe near-magical qualities to the Mosin Nagant: right wing wackadoodles and cheap-ass bastards. This guy's carrying a sign stating that he's a liberal, so he's probably the latter.
(And I mean no offense to those who affiliate with the right; there are at least as many left wing wackadoodles, and they're every bit as crazy as their opponents.)
