haha I fondled one a few weeks ago at Allen's. DEFINITELY the best feeling double stack 45 I've ever held.

yeah HK had a sale on that 45CT a few months ago. I almost got one. They were like 850 but you got a 200 dollar rebate as they are supposedly phasing them out.

Cabela's had at least one in stock the last time I was in there ... not at the price they had them a few months ago, though ... but still better than I can get (even wholesale) through my disty ...

Is this a once a year thing HK does where everyone participating does it at the same time or is it something just randomly done?

I was told it was a closeout/discontinuation on that model

I'm not sure. The $200 rebate was for any model they had in stock. So I don't think it was a model close out deal. I could be wrong though. He tried selling me a P30 with the rebate until I told him I already had one.

It was probably in reference to the 850 price on the tactical gun because I would imagine that it brings more than that retail given the extras it seems to have. I see they are at over a grand each on GB anyway right now.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I don't have it in me to over pay for anything like that. A few bucks if I really want something maybe, but definitely not to pay damn near double.
