Need help locating an sks "part"

Post by Dead-OnSniperService » Sun Jan 27, 2013 11:49 am

Finally tracked down an original (minus the gastube cover) Russian stock for my sks It is missing the screws on the side (or I assume they are screws, see picture) Anyone know where I might be able to locate this?

That's the recoil lug assembly. Not hard to find; a Google search will give you a number of sources.

Thank you, I was unsure of what it was exactly, it isnt essential to the function of the gun is it? As in I can still shoot it until I get one?

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

It's not essential, but without it the recoil will bear much more heavily on the rear recoil lug than intended, and the action won't be held as firmly in the stock, exacerbating this.
