AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
The safety is silent, no more snap, or scratched recievers.

Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
the mag now has a well, with a roller, so there is no more AK jumble when slapping a mag in. I helped design the silent safety, gave AMD65Tech.com a ideal and they ran with it, they sell the saftey on his web site, it has the Ghost ring sight and all the internals are poliched for max reliablity.

Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
Ok the big picture. AMD65tech did a great job, the rifle shoots great, has a buffer block that really helps with felt recoil, the tuned inside, had a new tapco piston installed, and just got two Ronin grips, probably will use a aimpoint for a optic. The silent safety is what sets this rifle apart, no more saftey snap. Know to set up a training date with the folks here and put it thru the workout.

Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
I had one AMD that one of the problems was the buffer, the rifle would not eject well
Took buffer off and it worked better.

The safety will make a loud snap when going to the fire position. This not what you want to hear, when you going to hit bamboo, and that flag flies, to say dumbxxx. Or in a shtf, you just told the world where your at. Uncle Ho,s privates saved one of my Vietnam nco's, when they heard that and were able to hit the deck. The mag well almost makes the mag load easy as a AR. Almost!

Roger, I saw your email yesterday. I'm waiting on a phone call to see what dates in August the range is already reserved for. So as soon as I find that out, I will send you an email with dates, times and equipment list.jdf747emt wrote:Well gunslinger, just need to get a date for some training, basic tactical rifle to refresh some skills and learn alot more.

Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
I got my AK47 running Sunday and I got AK fever BIG TIME!!! I think I am in desperate need of an AMD really bad now...haha My AK is just to damn pretty to chuck in the mud or gravel or whatever if needed to go to a sidearm and an AMD would fit the bill perfectly. Or it could just be a good excuse to have another fucking awesome gun...haha
Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
A AK is like a woman in some ways, if you throw then in the mud and make love to them, they just get hot and don't want to stop.

Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
Here is mine, next to my AA AR and a DPMS I'm trading for an Arsenal AK this weekend. Will post pics when I get it. Yeah, yeah, I ripped the AFG idea off somebody. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, they say.
Thinking of switching stocks out for an ACE side folder down the road, but I like how it runs right now.

Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
good looking bunch, for that AMD, the cheek rest would be a good addition. got to admit the AMD wins the bad ass contest.

Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
Thanks. I don't mind the cheek weld issue with it right now; I honestly don't get to shoot as much as I'd like. I figure the Arsenal AK should tide me over until I get a little more play money for an ACE setup for a better stock setup. I'm just not a big fan of the wire riser on the wire stock to achieve cheek weld.jdf747emt wrote:good looking bunch, for that AMD, the cheek rest would be a good addition. got to admit the AMD wins the bad ass contest.

Re: AMD 65 *Gunslinger Edition*
As for firsthand knowledge, I have no idea. When I looked, it seemed to be the most common conversion guys were doing and they seemed happy. Kind of pricy though, to me.jdf747emt wrote:whats the weight difffrence, and does it fold tight. ( the ace folder)?
