I've never been much into Ak's, but a guy has one he's wanting to trade and I never like going into a trad without others opinions and doing some research

A new AK is about 500.00

Yes around $300 is fair for that gun. I'd be surprised if you get more than that for it locally. The hunters are generally undesirable unless you can find someone who wants one for a collection. You may make a profit on it if you sell it on AKfiles...
