Parties ended pretty much when the $50 parts kits went up to $350 and higher. All you really need is a shop press from Harbor Freight.

Wow. These kits used to be $50? Man. I just paid $300 for mine for a common Bulgarian AK-74 with no receiver or barrel.

What was the place like then? Finding anything in there now-a-days is like playing finding Waldo the stuff is so piled up.

Was across the street by Carters Taxidermy. Was no more of a gun shop than a flexible market back then. Also paid $199 for my American Arms Calcio M100 rifle same year.

I always need something physically stimulating like refinishing trunk or building something. Its better to me than watching tv, atleast I accomplish something. Tv does have its place though.

I am about 90% done with my blackpowder traditions pistol kit so I figured why not build an ak? Same thing as a traditions kit right??? Jk kn that last part

There has been ATF raids made on build parties.
If somebody else builds your rifle , that requires a 07.

Ahh. I remember the aeries deal.

Part of me.building this, is so that I have something to keep my hands building something and learn something new. Outsourcing it just spends my money and only.makes me.learn how to deal with less money.

yep I know that but this subject has been brought up here before. You might have better luck asking on a different forum. I don't think they are done here.

So would it still considered a build party if a few wives made a play date for their husbands, and it so happens that a few of the guys bring their own entertainment, like kids bringing blocks or Legos.

It's casual encounters. It's where you can get a great deal on a coffee table and a handi at the same time.

Wait. Yes the table is on craigslist and its on here.

I assumed by handies you meant handjobs, but are we talking handles or something?

No handjobs. Now that is funny, I mention a coffee table because that was the first thing I thought of, and you have one for sale. Craigslist is nutty
