Nice AK. I would try getting original European, Russian, etc mags and trying the fit on them.
Alrighty. Thanks for the tip. I'll try to find some. 111 had some steel ak mags on sale for like 7 bucks last time I was there. They had a whole crate full. I'm not sure what kind they were or if they were any count though.

$10. Steel 30 round. I bought some, but didn't check the country of origin. Most of those were nice mags.

Maybe they were $10. That's a long haul though for mags. I might make a trip of it tomorrow if they are open.

Just looked at my receipt. They were $9.99 and they are Romanian.

Seem to be. They have black ones and ones with a more gray coloring. It's my opinion that the black ones were nicer. Some still needed cleaning to get the cosmoline out of them.

Romanian mags are GTG!
I don't care for any of the American metal mags at all.
Been wanting to try the new Magpul AK mags out.

One of the best mods for the AMD, bought some 1/4 round stock and had a buddy braze it on.

Nemo's AMD65 feels great with the cheek bar in it! I messed with it at Roosters a while back...

Home-built AMD's are also pretty common. The kits were fairly cheap for awhile and a lot of people built them. I've seen some absolutely horrible examples!

I kick myself for not buying one from Centerfire when they were only $50 for a complete kit with barrel, back in 2004-5.
