Sub $500 AR. Ever build one?
I have a plum crazy waiting for an upper. I would like a sportical to go on sale for $350 when I have some spare monies but I'm also considering spending more on the upper since the lower was so cheap and building a really slick upper. If I saw a used upper for $300 I'd jump on it as long as it isn'...

WikiLeaks: Bin Laden Not Buried at Sea?
This would not surprise me. I honestly don't know why the government would not show photos and the body as proof unless they were 100% sure he was actually killed and he would not pop up to prove the us gov wrong. So seems to me he was actually killed. Did they actually dump him in the ocean? Idk an...

Acog question
That's a nice chart thankyou but not what I'm looking for. I want to use the lines to measure things of known size other than torso's to calculate distances like you would with a mil dot reticle or to also measure windage holds for windy days.

Ok this is gonna be technical so bear with me. On a TA01 nsn 4x32 with the torso ranging reticle, wouldn't the 500 meter line be 1 mil in width? I'm figuring the torso line measures 19.5 inches at various ranges. 19.5 inches is half a meter. The 500 meter line would measure half a meter at 500 meter...

I wanted to leave it hard so the file would still work in a pinch. Idk. Ill mess around with it. I should have drilled hole already. I heated it up to anneal it on a steel railroad track plate in a campfire. Let it sit a few hours. Hardened it with a propane torch which was hard to get the whole bla...

I've used all 3 (acog, aimpoint, eotech) and I think in general, the eotech is the clear winner. It looks nice. It faster to acquire the dot with big circle and the circle gives you hold off and ranging abilities. The lower sitting and less tubular body frees up peripheral vision. New versions with ...

http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad267/skaggsccdw/IMG-20120304-00965.jpg I made this over the weekend from a nicholson file. I softened the steel, shaped the blade and have (I think) re hardened it. Going to add a lanyard hole and maybe one extra for lashing to a spear. Does anyone know a place t...
