Re: What did you pick up today?

A pair of Angolan pythons...oh wait, wrong kind of forum. A barely used S&W Shield 9 from a forum member here at a nice price to boot. I'm finding that packing a full size 1911 while working is counterproductive so it was time for a secondary, smaller carry piece. I've handled all sorts of "pocket p...

Re: 2014 Deer Season Reports

So I came home Monday night to find that the people who farm my corn field I live in decided to plow under the corn and cover provided by what was left from the harvest into the ground thoroughly. Watching my field since then it would seem the deer have enough options to not dig through my place to ...

Re: In my best Annie voice...

If it's brown it's down here this early. We need to put some meat in the freezer. There is one very large buck we've had our eye on for a few years but he's clever. Year round we see deer come through in groups of 20 or so daily. There are a couple young and dumb bucks but this one big guy has only ...

Re: Remington 700 XHR, wierd triangle thing going on.

For what I intend to do (hunting) with this particular rifle it is more than adequate as it is. I have another Remmy 700 BDL in 25-06 that I'm using as I start to explore shooting at longer ranges in the future. For hunting though, this little rifle will seemingly be very adequate. I'm learning a fe...

Remington 700 XHR, wierd triangle thing going on.

It was a good year for my boa breeding projects. I actually made a modest profit finally and also traded for a few pea shooters. One I recently aquired was this odd rifle with a triangle shape to the barrel. I read a bit about them and there seemed no general consensus. When I took it to the range t...

Oh, I have the plumbers butt too. I learned to wear suspenders over the last few months. Without them and this ultra thick leather belt I could never keep the 1911 where it should be. I'm planning to tinker around a bit myself and find a way to mount holsters in my work van, truck and Jeep. I want i...

Life in a small town...

It's been a crazy ride here in Cadiz. We had a bank robbery one day and a few days later some long time family friends were murdered. I'm sure most of you heard about the quadruple murder here. Growing up here we didn't even lock the doors to our homes. Those days are over. The Champions were long t...

Right on my birthday I get my CCDW from the sheriff and started carrying conealed everywhere I go. I'm finally getting to break in this crossbreed holster and I gotta say I barely notice the thing. I notice the weight of the full size 1911 from time to time but in just a few days I almost don't noti...

I read somewhere yesterday that Nagen hasn't been introduced yet in the show. People were speculating about that but the director or someone put that to rest saying that character hasn't been introduced in the show yet at all.

That is just awesome. Keep him out there man, they love it. My oldest and I went to the 4H shoot this year to compete in 22 sport rifle and he came really close to placing. The state competition was this weekend and it was a lot of fun. The trap guys are shooting tomorrow, everyone else shot today. My son scored a 129 out of a possible 150 total points in the 4h sport rifle state competition. This was Trigg County's first year in competition, his first year in competi...

It's not here yet but it's coming to stay with a couple Ruger M77 rifles next week. I pretty darn excited. It's even showing up with some shells and a set of reloading dies for it and the rifles. I have so many expensive calibers now that I'm either going to have to start reloading or sell something...

and it's a Ruger Super Redhawk chambered in 45 colt and 454 casull.

Any tips on shooting this hand cannon. I've never had a revolver or a big bore pistol like this. I'm a wee bit intimidated.

Rutland Plywood Factory went up in smoke...

Just in case there are any others among the KAC crowd who tend toward being a tree hugger when it comes to rifle stocks you may want to know that the factory that supplies the laiminate wood used in rifle stocks has burned to the ground. If you're thinking about a Boyd's or some other stock purchase...
